Petit Chou Baby Blanket ( pattern free )

Personally I’m so excited about this project that I decided to post it anyway, beautiful, Who knows the photos can not excite you too? I think deep down there is always my hope, hehe. Well, I’ve been doing Petit Chou Baby Blanket for a few weeks now (granny squares, as they say outside).

It all started when I thought I needed a revamp in the look of my white living room sofa. Since I’m in a total retro phase, there’s nothing better than crocheted pillow cases, typical of the 1970s, just like Grandma had.

The idea came quite a bit that I was with a box full of leftover skeins of wool from past projects (those transparent plastic containers from Sanremo … I bet many of you have too).

I picked out the prettiest colors, got my crochet hook and the result so far are these two boxes of the photos. I had so much wool and so many colors that I could make two squares, one with cold colors and the other with warm colors. I have to increase the size a bit more and make the back of the covers.

I think one week I finish  I’ll show you here the fundamentals to make the Grandma’s basic type square. Learning to make squares is ideal for those who are starting to crochet because they are few points in a recipe very easy to memorize.

Plus, it can be a really cool color-matching exercise! As for materials, I used leftovers I already had at home from Family Wire and others of similar thickness and a crochet needle 3.0, which I earned from Carola. The essence of the Petit Chou Baby Blanket is that it is made from the center and increased in each row, up to the size you want. And each row you can change the color of the wool (or not).
